We are the Charlands, faith-based Missionaries to the United States of America. In September 2013, we stepped out in faith, with no monthly support, to follow the Lord's leading. We have never been on deputation or otherwise actively sought to raise monthly support from churches during our presentations. Like George Muller, we have been living by faith, trusting God for His marvelous provision!
God called us to start our ministry so we could reach the lost for Christ and help American Christians live more faithfully for the Lord in these perilous times. We want to encourage Christians to yield their lives completely to Him. We have seen 1300 professions of faith in Christ since we started - to God be the glory! God prepared Dan to be a Missionary/Educator in a number of ways. He holds an undergraduate degree in Pastoral Theology with a Minor in Missions from Baptist Bible College (Springfield, MO). He also has a BA in History with a Minor in Education from Johnson State College (Johnson, VT). He has served in prison ministry, junior church, as an associate pastor, as an interim pastor, and as an evangelist ministering in many churches. He also taught history for seven years at the middle and high school levels, and has authored several published editorials, a Senior-level economics course, and several unpublished books. Jennifer started participating in living history events as a little girl with her father, Walt. Dan has been participating in living history events since his marriage to Jennifer in 1997. The Charlands have done living history events at schools, churches, museums/historic sites, and at living history rendezvous in California. From 2013 to 2019, our sons, Joseph, Jeremy, and Ethan, served with us in the ministry. Now they are adults pursuing their own lives of service to Christ! Below are some slides from the years the boys were serving with us: Dan has been burdened for many years to reach the lost for Christ and to preach a message of repentance to American Christians after having witnessed the decline of Christian America in his own lifetime.
Apathy on the part of believers for soul winning has contributed to the decline of America's Christian culture. The affluence of American Christians has contributed greatly to the apathy, as well. Dan firmly believes that God's hand of judgment is already upon America, but as with ancient Israel, if American Christians will repent, God will restore His hand of blessing: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. II Chron 7:14

Our sending church is Calvary Baptist Church in Essex Junction, VT. Pastor James Gangwer, Senior Pastor. The church has officially commissioned us for the work of this ministry, and our Pastor's Letter of Recommendation is available upon request. Regarding Contributions* to the Ministry: While Daniel Charland Ministries is a faith-based ministry, the PRAYER SUPPORT and financial contributions of churches and individuals make this ministry possible. The monthly support from churches and families/individuals enables us to minister in venues that cannot afford to contribute financially to our ministry, such as in Christian Schools and in small start up ministries. As such, all churches and families/individuals who feel led of the Holy Spirit to contribute financially to our ministry on a one-time or monthly basis are encouraged to do so, and are greatly appreciated.
