Teacher Training Through Workshops, Seminars, & Conferences
Teaching Conceptually Seminar (2 hours) - This seminar will enable an understanding of concepts, hierarchical relationships between concepts, connecting concepts together, finding the "one in the many", and provide specific teaching methods enabling educators to teach conceptually.
Classroom Organization Workshop (1 hour) - This workshop will prepare the teacher to hit the ground running the next time he/she enters the classroom. Topics include classroom layout, record keeping, teacher supplies, and classroom supplies. This course is an excellent compliment to the Classroom Management Workshop.
Classroom Management Workshop (3 hours) - In this workshop teachers will learn the fundamentals of sound classroom management. Topics include: your professional image, your new class, the first day of school, a sound behavior management plan, classroom rules, dealing with infractions, integrating behavior with academic achievement, attributes of an effective classroom leader/manager, and enabling your substitute to be successful when you're away. Teachers will develop many aspects of their own classroom management system during this workshop. The information in this workshop can be implemented at any time of the school year and will prove just as beneficial in November or March as in September.
Teaching History Seminar (2 hours) - The Teaching Conceptually Seminar is a prerequisite to this course. This seminar will enable educators to teach history conceptually. Getting Started with Teacher Training:
Dan can present one or several of the above courses at your school for a one-day event. We can also schedule a Teacher Training Conference over a 3-day period which works well during school breaks (Summer, Christmas, Spring, etc.). Dan can also coordinate training with subject area experts on your staff, so they participate in the 3-day training conferences, as well.
If you are located in the Abilene, TX area, Dan can arrange accommodations locally.
